Lagosians have been inundated with sights and sounds from social media to radio and mobile billboards.
Speaking on the concert, Oti Bazunu, convener of the Lagos Jazz Series said “this year marks our 7th anniversary and we want to make it special. Our goal is to help relax the folks of Lagos through music, alfresco style, at the park or by the pool side and that’s what Lagosians are going to get on Friday and Saturday.”
Lagos will experience the ultimate in alfresco style music on Friday and Saturday November 25 and 26 2016 when the 7th edition of the annual Lagos Jazz Series holds first at the Muri Okunola Park and then Moorhouse Sofitel.
Announcing the line-up, Oti Bazunu, convener of the Lagos Jazz Series said “Lagos is in for something amazing this time around as the Lagos Jazz Series happens again. Old time music lovers who are familiar with Hamish Stuart from The Average White Band are in for a treat and then there is British soul legend Omar who will be bringing his unique soul music to Lagos.”
A statement released by the organisers of the Lagos Jazz series listed other acts as Cape Verdean bands, Lito Coolio and Lizenda Da Cruz whose blend of Morna music infused with reggae is fresh and amazingly different. They will be bringing alive the spirit of Cape Verdean diva, Cesaria Evora.
Maka is a fast rising Naija chanteuse with a fresh approach and flavour as she takes charge on the key board.
Other acts on the line-up include the Lagos Jazz Series Quintet and a host of others.
This year’s edition will take place at two venues, Muri Okunola Park on Friday November 25 and The Moorhouse Sofitel Hotel Ikoyi on Saturday November 26. Guests will be treated not just to good music but to Catuma, a special bubbly wine making its Lagos debut.
